Colin Kilgour of KiWi Private Credit Fund participated last week in a panel discussion of investment fund managers at the Canadian Lenders Summit in Toronto. The panel, moderated by Garron Helman of Venbridge with additional panelists from Merchant Advance Capital (David Gens) and Cypress Hills Partners (Kelly Klatik) explored the ins and outs of managing an investment fund that invests in private loans.
In front of a full house at the MARS Discovery District, the three fund managers discussed a variety of issues relating to private credit investing, including their preparedness for a potential economic downturn, their varying approaches to conducting due diligence on new lending platforms, their sensitivity to interest rate changes, and how they approach valuing their portfolio for reporting purposes.
If you missed the session and want to get caught up on the ins and outs of credit funds investing in private loans as well as the outlook for the near future, please reach out to us at your convenience.
